The Opportunity:
KBR is seeking an Inventory Officer to support the Land Manoeuvre Systems Branch in Melbourne. This role plays a critical part in optimising supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring efficient product flow, inventory control, and delivery performance across complex defence programs.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to analyse logistics systems, support planning activities, and provide accurate reporting that aligns logistics processes with operational and delivery objectives.
Responsibilities:
* Analysing and implementing logistics plans impacting production, distribution, and inventory of finished products
* Supporting the development and execution of supply chain strategies to improve product flow, delivery timelines, and order fill rates
* Conducting distribution and network studies, monitoring inventory levels, and analysing requirements
* Maintaining accurate logistics records and preparing regular reports for management
* Coordinating logistics activities with internal and external customers and stakeholders
* Providing activity updates and status reporting to support informed decision-making
* Undertaking additional duties as required to support program outcomes
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
* A BA/BS degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, or
* At least 10 years of progressive experience in a relevant logistics or supply chain role, or
* 4 years of specialised military logistics experience (accepted in lieu of a degree)
* Minimum 2 years' experience in procurement and/or supply chain management
* Strong computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, and database maintenance and reporting
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships and manage stakeholders across all levels of an organisation
