The Role: We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Bricklayer to join our dynamic team in Melbourne South East. This is a full-time position offering 38 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in masonry work, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Salary: $90,000 per annum plus superannuation Key Responsibilities: Analyse blueprints and specifications to determine the necessary materials, dimensions, and installation procedures for each project. Apply damp-resistant materials to foundations and spread layers of mortar using trowels to create a stable base and binder for building blocks. Arrange bricks in specified patterns, designs, and shapes, ensuring proper alignment and spacing while spreading mortar between joints to securely bond the bricks.
Assemble and disassemble scaffolding structures of limited height to facilitate access to elevated work areas. Use machines and hand tools to cut, shape, and polish stones and bricks, customizing them to fit unique or irregular spaces within the structure. Perform restoration and upkeep of existing brickwork, cement blocks, and related structures to ensure their integrity and appearance.
Consistently check both vertical and horizontal alignment of structures during construction to maintain accuracy and structural soundness. Design and engrave monumental masonry, including lettering, and construct walls using stone slabs and large masonry blocks. Cut, polish, join, and install stone kitchen benchtops, ensuring precision and quality in finish.

Minimum of two years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications. Ability to read and interpret construction plans. Strong knowledge of masonry tools, equipment, and materials.
