Agri-Environment Programme Officer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team in Tralee, Kerry as an Agri-Environment Programme Officer.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of a locally relevant agri-environment programme that addresses the many challenges for our environment. This includes assessing habitats and participating in quality control of habitat assessments submitted by farm advisors.
* Produce high-quality farm plans that meet the needs of local farmers and stakeholders.
* Participate in monitoring key species/habitats and chemical physical parameters as required.
* Assist in the assessment of risks to biodiversity, archaeological heritage, and water quality.
* Assess fire, flooding, and nest predation risks at a local level.
* Assist in the selection and design of landscape actions to mitigate these risks.
* Participate in commonage assessments throughout the country.
* Assist the Remote Sensing officer with drone surveys to monitor land use and environmental impact.
* Develop strong relationships with local communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote the programme's objectives.
* Provide support to staff, DAFM, NPWS, and other stakeholders as directed.
