Responsibilities
* Research and assistance with tax consulting advice (such as tax consolidation, tax treaties, hybrid mismatches, Controlled Foreign Companies, withholding taxes, thin capitalisation, permanent establishments, AMITs, etc.).
* Preparation of company and trust tax returns, including consolidated company tax returns, for a wide range of large corporate clients.
* Preparation and review of tax-effect accounting calculations.
* Research and assistance with preparing advice and calculations in connection with international tax issues.
* Assist clients with M&A activities, including tax structuring and tax due diligence services.
* Assist clients with ATO reviews, governance matters and audits, as well as liaising with the ATO to obtain rulings for clients.
* Research and analysis of technical tax issues and preparation of tax reports.
* Assistance with business development initiatives and proposals, including preparing for and attending meetings with clients.
Required Skills and Experience
* Tertiary and/or professional qualification(s) in Business / Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualifications.
* Previous tax accounting experience gained within a professional services environment, with a keen interest in technical tax issues.
* Analytical skills and an inquisitive mindset, with the ability to deeply understand clients' businesses and apply knowledge to routine matters.
* Demonstrable strong work ethic and commitment to excellent client service.
Desirable
* Professional accreditation(s) such as CA, CPA, CTA or equivalent overseas certification(s).
