Job Description
The position involves supporting daily operations of the Insectary and contributing to vital experimental work involving arthropod breeding, infection and dissection procedures, and molecular and cell culture techniques. As a key member of the Vector Borne Pathogens team within the Health and Biosecurity Research Unit at CSIRO, you will play a crucial role in advancing research that safeguards Australia's health and biosecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Breeding mosquitoes and/or other arthropods for experimentation purposes.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records as per regulations.
* Performing routine maintenance of the Insectary, ensuring it is clean, organised and well stocked, and equipment is maintained and safe for daily operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a relevant diploma/bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience in laboratory techniques/technology. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are also essential, along with excellent attention to detail and record keeping skills.
