About The Role
The Student Support Services (SSS) team works with schools and preschools to assist them to support the strengths, opportunities, and additional needs of learners. This service is time-limited and based on identified and agreed upon goals and recorded in a service plan. The nature and level of support is tailored to each case's needs.
The Youth Justice and Education Social Worker provides support for children and young people (C&YP), aged 10 to 17 years to re-engage with education following involvement with the youth justice system. This role is established to address the high level of school disengagement among young people frequently involved in the South Australian youth justice system.
Student Support Services are on a cultural response journey, as such we value and prioritise Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing and being.
Essential Qualifications: An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Desirable Qualifications: Nil.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
AHP2 $88,255 - $102,240 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%)

Additional Note
This position is 1.0FTE and will be offered as an ongoing role. The applicant should be aware that the position is dual located in the Adelaide Youth Court and Felixstow Education office.
