About the Role
We're looking for a creative and experienced Lead Interior Designer to join our talented team and shape the future of Valiant's furnishing schemes nationally. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this Sydney-based role works closely with the National Creative Director and the wider Interiors team to deliver inspiring, high-quality furniture and styling packages that bring each project's creative vision to life.
As a design leader, you'll oversee projects from concept to installation, ensuring every detail aligns with client expectations, brand standards, and design excellence.
About You
You are a strong creative leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to balance design flair with commercial sensibility. You are equally confident presenting to clients, mentoring designers, and rolling up your sleeves to ensure delivery is flawless.
You will bring:
* Tertiary qualification in Interior Design or a related discipline
* High proficiency in Revit or ArchiCAD, SketchUp, and Programa; Adobe Creative Suite highly regarded
* Minimum 7 years of industry experience in interior design
* Strong knowledge of residential furniture and experience collaborating with both local and international suppliers
* Demonstrated ability to lead creative and conceptual design projects from ideation through to installation
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver exceptional outcomes under pressure and within set deadlines
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
* A proactive, solutions-driven approach with a sharp eye for detail
* Collaborative mindset and a passion for creating high-quality, trend-forward design concepts
* Ability to mentor and support the national interiors team to uphold Valiant's design standards
A Typical Day
* Build strong relationships with clients, agents, developers, and suppliers to ensure repeat business and exceptional experiences
* Lead client engagements — developing concepts, proposals, schedules, and project plans aligned with creative briefs and budgets
* Develop specifications and manage the full design and delivery process from start to finish
* Select and source furniture and accessories that meet Valiant's aesthetic and quality standards
* Collaborate with the National Creative Director to refine concepts and ensure creative alignment across national projects
* Partner with Operations to ensure seamless installations and proactively manage on-site challenges
* Provide creative direction and support to the Interiors and Sales teams as needed
