**Where you'll be working**

The Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC) is committed to providing leadership in safety and quality to improve health care for patients in NSW. The primary focus of the CEC is to promote and support improved clinical care, safety and quality across the NSW public health system, and to meet functions specified by the Minister for Health. The CEC is the lead agency for Infection prevention and control and Healthcare associated infections for NSW Health. The CEC Strategic Plan places priority on delivering high performing reliable systems and ensuring safety and quality in the provision of healthcare for 'every patient, every time' is consistent across NSW Health.

**What you'll be doing**

The Education Lead, Infection Prevention Control (IPAC) is responsible for leading the CEC's IPAC educational strategies. The position has a role in supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of processes and systems to support clinical governance strategies aimed at improving the safety and quality of healthcare across NSW.

The Education and clinical Lead, IPAC will work collaboratively with the NSW Chief infection control qualified (ICP) /HAI advisor and the IPAC/HAI team and provides specialist clinical and educational advice. The position leads, drives and manages the development, coordination and implementation of the various aspects of the educational requirements for NSW Infection prevention and control and Healthcare Associated Infections Program. This includes project planning, educational modelling, managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), managing conflicting resources and priorities, negotiations with stakeholders and implementation for current and future projects in collaboration with the IPAC/HAI team to improve quality and safety of healthcare in NSW. Core requirement includes supporting the National Hand Hygiene Initiative (NHHI), commitment to infection prevention and control training and education; HETI training reviews, IPAC training and mandatory training review and updates. Responsibility for supporting the Local Health Districts IPAC programs and educational strategies underpinning core program elements.

**Employment Type**: Full Time - Permanent
**Position Classification**: Health Manager Level 3
**Remuneration**: $122,850 - $139,559 per annum, plus superannuation
**Hours Per Week**: 40 (38hrs Standard + 2hrs toward ADO)

**Selection Criteria**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in education and Infection Prevention and Control (credentialing or equivalent), extensive relevant clinical experience, hand hygiene auditor educator certified and demonstrated skills and knowledge in the principles of quality improvement and safety in healthcare.
- Expert experience and knowledge of IPAC and HAI principles in the context of quality and safety, with the capacity to provide authoritative expert clinical education advice in IPAC and HAI.
- Demonstrated experience with education of Standard 3 and Infection Prevention and Control including high level personal protective equipment (PPE) training.
- Extensive IPAC/HAI educational program management experience, including experience leading and managing the successful development, implementation and analysis of a state-wide or large-scale educational program.
- Demonstrated high-level understanding of the delivery of care within the NSW health system and expert knowledge of current and emerging areas of clinical quality and patient safety.
- Superior analytical skills including the demonstrated ability to establish, maintain, develop, analyse and interpret the output from databases, undertake research, and to conduct, analyse literature searches and synthesis evidence.
- High level verbal and written communications with a proven ability to develop succinct, high-quality written documents, reports and verbal presentations for senior clinicians, executive-level managers and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills for managing conflicting priorities and ensuring the effective execution of strategies and solutions across complex areas.
