See Yourself in the Team
The NLA (Network Lab Access) team empower Network Engineers by providing seamless, scalable, and secure access to lab environments that support the continuous evolution of network products. Through software-driven approaches, they are shifting from traditional, one-time testing models to a continuous, integrated, and highly efficient testing lifecycle, delivering a transformation that ensures engineers can validate and iterate on network solutions rapidly, with consistency and confidence.
Known for their deep technical expertise, collaborative mindset, and commitment to operational excellence, they work at the intersection of infrastructure and software engineering - building and maintaining platforms that support everything from automated lab provisioning to secure remote access and telemetry.
If you're excited by purpose-led engineering and want to be part of a team that values curiosity, autonomy, and continuous learning, this is the team for you.
Your Role
As a Senior Software Engineer / Full Stack Python Developer, you'll build a self-service interface that automates firewall deployment for engineering teams. You'll work across the stack - from front-end development using React or Vue to back-end programming in Python, leveraging cloud technologies and observability tools to ensure robust, scalable, and reliable solutions. To achieve this, you may expect to;
* Develop and maintain back-end services in Python for automating firewall deployment, with frameworks like Django or Flask.
* Build user-friendly front-end interfaces using React or Vue.
* Implement observability practices using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana to monitor and maintain application performance.
* Ensure seamless integration with existing enterprise systems and platforms.
* Utilise cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) to deploy and manage applications.
* Collaborate with network engineering teams to ensure that solutions align with best practices in switching, routing, and firewall management.
Required Key Skills and Experience
* Expertise in full-stack development with a strong emphasis on Python back-end development and front-end frameworks like React or Vue.
* Confidence with cloud technology services (AWS, Azure or GCP) and containerization / orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) tools.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems, particularly GitHub Actions.
* Hands-on experience integrating and/or embedding monitoring and observability tools, with a preference for OpenTelemetry. Experience with Observe, Prometheus or Grafana is also highly valued.
* Good understanding of Network Engineering fundamentals, including switching, routing, and firewalls, or a willingness to learn and expand this knowledge.
* Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and best practices for developing, testing, and deploying software.
