About the role

This is an opportunity to join a supportive and motivated Physiotherapy Team in a primarily acute care hospital, with Dubbo Health Service. The role will primarily cover weekend shifts.

The Senior Physiotherapist in the Emergency Department provides high level physiotherapy skills across all areas of the department, including as a Primary Care Practitioner providing independent assessment and management of appropriate conditions. The role is required to demonstrate advanced skills in the provision of musculoskeletal assessment and care, general acute clinical care and discharge planning, clinical supervision and support for junior colleagues, and exercise independent professional judgement and problem solving.

The role will have support from other experienced senior clinicians, will be involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services, and identify, develop and lead quality improvement activities to ensure the delivery of high quality and consistent care.

Why choose this role? Dubbo Health Service is a major rural referral centre in the Western NSW Local Health District, providing care for patients from an extremely large geographical area and without access to services, widely available for most of the population elsewhere in NSW. Care provided in Dubbo Hospital is often the foundation of patient recovery, with plans formulated at Dubbo following patients as they return home.

You will share your skills and expertise with a strong physiotherapy team and more widely with a well-integrated multidisciplinary team who respect and appreciate your expertise.
