Through the delivery of intermediate care services, our team are bridging the gap between primary healthcare and hospitals, ensuring that patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
This model of care benefits patients, community and primary care and the health system.The Role:The Nursing Director - Intermediate Care is:Accountable and reports to the Executive Director of Nursing & Services, Home & Community, and operates under broad direction.Operates autonomously and exercises considerable initiative and professional judgment across the spectrum of responsibilities, as well as to judge when to seek advice or direction.Expected to maintain currency of knowledge in the area of responsibility to enable the identification and realisation of objectives in line with the Department of Health Strategic priorities.You will need:Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic policy direction based on high level political, organisational and social awareness, utilising high level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills.Demonstrated high level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate complex and sensitive issues effectively.Proven leadership qualities including demonstrated high levels of adaptability and flexibility.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Why Tasmania:The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services.
