Responsibilities
As Assistant Quality Manager, you'll lead and coach a team of Quality Officers/Admin to deliver compliant, efficient production support. You'll manage batch review and release scheduling, provide quality oversight across manufacturing, and ensure adherence to cGMP, Human Tissue GMP and relevant Australian Standards. You'll drive QMS improvements (SOPs, training, document control), support inspection readiness and CAPA management, and partner with Production to help maintain AusBio's TGA Manufacturing Licence. This is a permanent, 38‐hour‐per‐week role (standard hours 8:00–4:30) with flexibility as required.
As an integral part of the quality team based in our manufacturing facility in Frenchs Forest, NSW your key responsibilities will include:
* Take ownership of complex quality system tasks, including management of operational tasks
* Assist in the implementation of new products and equipment, contributing to qualification and quality planning
* Conduct batch record reviews and perform product release in accordance with GMP requirements
* Support and mentor team members in quality-related activities; deliver GMP and competency-based training as needed
* Engage in quality improvement initiatives and cross-functional quality-related projects
* Support oversight of cleanroom operations and environmental controls
* Prepare and report monthly quality metrics and system performance trends
* Perform additional quality assurance tasks as required to support departmental goals
* Liaise with Production, Quality, and other departments to support compliant operations
Qualifications
We believe you will be successful if you have:
* Tertiary qualification at a minimum of bachelor's level in a science-related discipline, with understanding of microbiology
* Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and apply them to operational processes
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to listen and assess stakeholders' needs
* Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify and address potential issues proactively
* Proven ability to work independently following initial guidance
* Effective time management and organisational abilities
* Proactive, forward-thinking mindset with a strong team-oriented approach
* Strong cross-functional management skills
* Preferably over 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a TGA-regulated environment
