About the role

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer to join a high-performing team on the Future Fuels project, contributing to the continued supply of Australian-produced fuel now and into the future. You will play a key role in supporting the Commissioning and Startup (CSU) phase. This is a temporary full-time position based at the Lytton Refinery, running through to 31 December.

Responsibilities
* Support the Lead Process Engineer in executing and verifying process engineering activities, inclusive of as-built changes.
* Prepare for CSU by reviewing contractor-developed commissioning and startup procedures.
* Own and maintain Startup Sequence and Arrow Relationship Diagrams (ARD).
* Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and Management of Change (MOC) activities.
* Verify Process Safety Information (PSI), including P&IDs, relief system design, and PSV datasheets.
* Assist with performance testing, acceptance criteria, and evaluation of test data.
* Troubleshoot process issues and collaborate with licensors and contractors during CSU.
* Provide ongoing process engineering support and drive optimisation and operational improvements.
* Make and oversee decisions related to sequencing, process changes, safety, performance, and business impact in line with delegation of authority.
About you

You are accountable for meeting commitments while upholding a strong commitment to safety, holding yourself and others to high standards, tracking performance, and ensuring adherence to goals, policies, procedures, and safe work practices. You are adept at managing complexity by making sense of large volumes of sometimes conflicting information, analysing issues from multiple perspectives, and identifying root causes, risks, and effective solutions. You are also focused on optimising work processes through continuous improvement, using metrics and benchmarks to enhance efficiency, quickly resolving issues, and implementing actions to ensure problems do not recur in a safe and sustainable manner.

Qualification & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
* Demonstrated proven process engineering experience within a major hazard facility
* Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders to collaborate, provide guidance and drive change in ambiguous circumstances
* Experience with commissioning and startup of units within an oil refinery is desirable
* Knowledge of management of change process and risk assessment tools
* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
