Job Description:
Windmill Healthcare are now recruiting for a Domestic Assistant - Cleaning & Kitchen for Killeline Care Centre, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick. You will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of Killeline Care Centre with regards to ensuring that a high standard of cleanliness is adhered to at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Cleaning
* Maintain all areas in the care centre to a high standard of cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene.
* Carry out assigned housekeeping duties including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, polishing and mopping of equipment, furnishings, crockery, cutlery, kitchen appliances, toilets, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, windows and refuse disposal areas.
* Domestic and hazardous waste disposal; ensure bins are collected, cleaned and kept in a hygienic manner at all times.
* Cleaning of spillages as they occur and proper use of safety signs.
* Adhere to infection control policies and procedures and keep up-to-date on best practices.
* Report and record any observed defects on the premises and grounds, equipment or other problems that may affect the standard of service.
* Arrange the resident's laundry into relevant groups, preparing soiled clothing and linen for laundry processing through the washer, drier, and iron.
* Liaise and coordinate with external laundry personnel if linen is laundered externally.
* Folding and storage of clothing and linen. Making residents' beds and ensuring high standards and presentable rooms at all times.
* Ensure statutory Health, Safety & Fire, and Infection Control standards in the laundry area are adhered to and duties are carried out in line with health and safety procedures.
* Assist in the preparation and service of all meals and beverages for residents, visitors, and staff to the required hygiene and economy standards.
* Preparation of residents' trays and dining areas, ensuring necessary equipment, utensils, and food are available in the required quantities and at the required time.
* Clean kitchen, dining areas, and catering utensils using appropriate techniques and equipment.
* Adhere to hygiene, health and safety, HACCP, and COSHH regulations, meeting all legislative requirements.
* Assist with record keeping as directed.
