As a Cook in our hotel, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items according to recipes and quality standardsEnsure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety practices in all food preparation areasCollaborate with kitchen staff to maintain efficient operations and meet customer expectationsAssist in menu planning and development of new dishesManage food inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising wasteMaintain a clean and organised work environmentOperate and maintain kitchen equipment properlyAdapt to changing needs and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced settingParticipate in team efforts to improve kitchen processes and overall dining experienceComply with all relevant health department regulations and organisational policies.QualificationsFlexibility to work across different shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury or five-star environmentTrade Qualification in Commercial CookeryMaintain impeccable hygiene and kitchen standards in line with HACCP requirementsCurrent Food Handlers certificateStrong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen proceduresExcellent knife skills and ability to operate standard kitchen equipmentProficiency in preparing a wide range of cuisines and dietary optionsAbility to read and execute recipes accuratelyStrong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guestsFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidaysBasic computer skills for using kitchen management systemsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentationTeam-oriented mindset with a positive attitudeCulinary degree or relevant certification preferred, but not required with sufficient experienceBasic English language proficiency.Additional InformationBring passion and dedication to excellence, and we will recognise your contribution with a variety of benefits, rewards and development opportunities.
