About the Role
Reporting to the Community Programs Manager, the Food and Material Aid Logistics Officer plays a key role in ensuring individuals and families seeking asylum have access to essential food, clothing and household items.
This position oversees the day‐to‐day coordination of Foodbank and Material Aid operations, including stock management, donations, deliveries, volunteer coordination and logistics. The role also supports the delivery of targeted and ad‐hoc donation drives in response to identified client needs.
This is a dynamic and practical role suited to someone who enjoys both operational coordination and community‐focused work.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate the day‐to‐day operations of the JRS Foodbank and Material Aid program
* Monitor stock levels and oversee the safe storage, organisation and distribution of food and donated goods
* Serve as the primary point of contact for donations and deliveries
* Coordinate or undertake collections of donated goods across Greater Sydney as required
* Work collaboratively with volunteers to support Foodbank distribution and home delivery services
* Maintain accurate records and data relating to Foodbank and Material Aid support
* Build and maintain relationships with material aid providers, donors and community partners
* Support targeted donation appeals and ad‐hoc drives in collaboration with internal teams
* Liaise with building management, contractors and service providers regarding site operations and maintenance
* Ensure all activities are carried out in line with WHS and organisational policies
