Overview

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Third Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath. This operation is based in the Bass Strait. Reporting to the First Engineer, the Third Engineer is responsible for the maintenance of the Fuel and Lube Oil Purification system, boiler maintenance and feed water control, compressed air machinery and domestic services as directed.

How will you contribute to our success?

The Third Engineer will be responsible for:

* Safe operation of the main engine in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
* Safe operation of the boiler in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
* Performing day work in conjunction with a rotating 24 hour system of Gear Turn including fuel and lube oil purifiers, air compressors, boiler and boiler feed water control and heat exchanges as directed;
* Any other duties as required.


The skills you will bring to our team

* Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 3 (required)
o AMSA Engine Watchkeeper (Class 3) CoC/CoR Unlimited
o Minimum 12 months relevant experience in a related role including at least 36 weeks of sea service on vessels with propulsion power ≥750 kilowatts
* Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable)
* Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)
* Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)
* Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)
* Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights
* Living in Australia
