What you'll be doing:
* Assisting with set‐up, programming, and operation of CNC lathes and/or milling machines
* Manufacturing high‐precision components
* Performing routine machine maintenance and basic fault‐finding
* Dismantling, cleaning, measuring, and assessing parts
* Supporting small machining jobs and general workshop activities
* Workshop upkeep and occasional local deliveries
What we're looking for:
+ 2nd or 3rd year Mechanical Apprentice
+ Proven exposure to CNC machining (lathes and/or mills)
+ Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma or similar controls highly regarded
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
+ Reliable, punctual, and safety‐focused
+ Sound computer literacy
+ Australian citizen or permanent resident
Training & Support:
You'll be employed by MRAEL and supported by a dedicated Apprentice & Employment Consultant, providing:
+ Ongoing mentoring and performance support
+ Coordination of all off‐the‐job training
+ Regular check‐ins to support your progress through to completion
You'll be working towards:
Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and/or Turning)
