As a Lecturer (Academic Level B), you will focus your efforts on growing your profile in teaching, research, supervision and service and engagement. At this level, you may coordinate or lead the activities of other staff and contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students. As a teaching and research academic at level B (Lecturer), you will aspire to achieve national recognition in your field of research. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C, comparable to Assistant Professor), you will focus your efforts on leveraging your established record of achievement in teaching, supervision, research and service and engagement. At this level, you may coordinate or lead the activities of other staff and will be expected to have an active and effective record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students successfully to completion as principal supervisor. As a teaching and research academic at level C, you will be expected to have achieved national recognition and have a developing international profile in your field of research. Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About You At Academic Level B – Teaching and Research, applicants should possess A PhD or equivalent in accounting or a related area by the time they commence in the role. A growing profile in teaching and research in the discipline area. Evidence of a high research potential demonstrated through a developing pipeline of working papers targeting high-quality refereed journals and conferences and/or published high-quality journal articles. Demonstrate the willingness to seek, obtain and manage external research funding. Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours or postgraduate level across a variety of settings. Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities. In addition to the above, for appointment at Academic Level C An established profile in teaching and research within the discipline, with national recognition and an emerging international presence, substantiated by a robust record of publications in reputable refereed journals and conference presentations. A strong history of securing, managing, and leveraging external research funding; evidence of high-quality teaching across undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels in various settings, alongside a track record of effective course coordination and active involvement in the development and continuous innovation of programs and curriculum; A solid history of supervising Research Higher Degree students to successful completion; and a growing engagement in meaningful internal service roles, coupled with a substantial contribution to external activities. Evidence of exceptional teaching quality and leadership in both internal and external contexts.
