The Role
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to undertake parks and gardens work at one of Victorias leading holiday resorts. The position is preferably 4-5 days per week. Conducting various tasks including Lawn, turf and garden care. Planting, pruning and horticultural works including weed spraying. Grounds upkeep, cleaning, Safety, maintenance, and basic repairs on equipment.
We are seeking a motivated and capable individual to take primary responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance, presentation, and delivery of parks and gardens works in a small team.
You will liaise with the Operations Manager, oversee the quality of operations and will coordinate the undertaking of horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks on site, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. The role requires both hands-on field work and some site management responsibility, making it ideal for someone seeking a leadership position in horticulture.
Your Skills and Experience
Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities.
Ability to communicate with Managers, Client and other employees.
Physical fitness and stamina, reliability, attention to detail, ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Demonstrated commitment to working in a team environment by working effectively with colleagues.
Basic horticultural knowledge: plants, trees, lawns; ability to recognize healthy vs. unhealthy plants, pests, weeds, etc.
Demonstrated experience in parks and gardens, horticulture, or similar field, preferred.
Certificates/licenses
* Current Victorian Drivers Licence
* *OHS Construction Induction Card (Red Card, White Card) (Required)
* *Chemcert, ACUP or equivalent (Required)
*You may be considered without these licenses. However, must be willing to obtain them before starting employment with us.
Certificate III or higher qualification in Horticulture or Turf is preferred but not essential.
