About the organisation
The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) is an independent statutory authority which regulates Victoria's gambling industry. The organisation licenses, informs and educates, monitors and enforces the gambling industry through a risk-based approach to regulation. The opportunity
Reporting to Principal Auditor, Risk Advisory, the primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Principal Auditor in driving the assessment of gambling risks and controls, to determine appropriate regulatory processes.
Who we are looking for
To be considered for this role, you will have:
1. Relevant qualification and demonstrated experience working in accounting and auditing area;
2. Full membership of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or the Institute of Public Accountants;
3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in audit processes and procedures; and
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
Key responsibilities
5. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of various operational aspects of the gambling industry to ensure the suitability of the regulatory approach to mitigate the detected risks.
6. Assess industry and legislative change to identify new regulatory gaps that require assessment and development of core mitigation strategies.
7. Manage consultation processes with other operational divisions to understand as-is process and propose improvements on an ongoing basis.
8. Manage cross-divisional implementation of proposed process and/or methodology determined as a result of the risk assessment.
9. Compile necessary reporting structures and processes in relation to risk assessments to ensure Divisions are well informed of outputs, key intelligence and risks.
