Location: Mt Nathan, QLD with local travel (Gold Coast and west of the Gold Coast).
Hurtec builds and services specialist vehicle systems where reliability is the absolute priority. We're looking for an experienced mechanic who enjoys proper diagnostics, clean workmanship, and getting vehicles and equipment ready to perform when it counts.
What you'll do
Service, diagnose, and repair a wide range of specialise vehicles and equipment from trailers up to large trucks and auxiliary systems (workshop + customer sites).
Work on pump and water system components: faults, seals, drives, controls, plumbing, and performance checks.
Handle 12/24V auto electrical tasks: wiring, sensors, relays, batteries, charging, and accessory integration.
Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and test runs with clear job notes.
Liaise with customers on-site: explain findings, agree on next steps, and keep jobs moving.
Maintain a high bar on safety, tidy work practices, and repeatable quality.
Qualifications required (must have one)
Light vehicle mechanic
Heavy vehicle mechanic
Auto electrician
Current driver's licence (MR/HR licence is a plus).
Highly desirable
Strong fault-finding skills (you don't "parts cannon" your way to victory).
Comfort working across mechanical + basic auto electrical + pumps/water systems.
Willingness to travel locally for on-site work.
Interest in, and willingness to learn, the operational context in which our customers work (experience in firefighting/emergency response is highly valued but not required).
What we offer

$110,000–$140,000 or $50–$65/hr.
