As trusted advisers, we engage across DEWR, the APS, and our ministers to support government decision-making, maintain strategic awareness, and develop positions on emerging policy issues.The Branch collaborates with central agencies, portfolio entities, and stakeholders on strategic policy, budget, and performance matters, advising Ministers and the Executive. Assistant Directors work broadly to deliver DEWR’s External Budget functions, including Budget Estimates and Policy.Key DutiesWork with stakeholders to develop and cost proposals, including advice on NPPs, costings, and justifications.Manage and support the portfolio’s budget estimates, ensuring accuracy in systems like CBMS and TM1.Provide strategic and technical advice on complex matters, including Budget Process Rules and Ministerial submissions.Maintain relationships with stakeholders and contribute to budget publications.Supervise staff as required.Employees must be Australian citizens unless otherwise approved.
