Overview
The Facility Officer role provides operational support across Brooke Street Pier, with a strong focus on inspections, safety oversight, appearance and presentation, and coordinated reporting. The role works collaboratively with tenants, stallholders and key stakeholders to support the safe, efficient and professional operation of the Pier, while maintaining high standards of safety, presentation and customer service.
Key accountabilities

* Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure safety, compliance and presentation standards are maintained.
* Identify, document and report hazards, incidents, defects and non-compliance in accordance with procedures.
* Coordinate and communicate facility issues with tenants, contractors and stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate inspection, safety and incident records.
* Monitor cleanliness, appearance and overall presentation of the facility.
* Support emergency preparedness and compliance requirements.
Position DescriptionDuties & ResponsibilitiesFacility Inspection & Oversight (Non-Trade)
* Conduct routine visual inspections of buildings, public areas and facilities
* Identify, document and report maintenance, safety, or cleanliness issues
* Escalate issues to management and approved contractors where required
* Monitor contractor works to ensure site safety, cleanliness, and compliance
* Maintain accurate inspection and incident records
* Undertake and/or maintain register for programmed maintenance schedules without limitation to cleaning, pest control, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, outside areas and entrance to the facility
* Uphold cleanliness and appearance of outside storage areas inclusive of bin room
* Monitor pier environment - atmosphere and ambience (room temperature, sound levels etc) to promote customer satisfaction
WH&S & Compliance
* Conduct and/or organise safety and security inspections across the site in accordance with the Facility Management Plan and make recommendations
* Support a safe environment for all staff, tenants, contractors and visitors
* Maintain site register for all contractors
* Identify & report hazards, incidents and near misses. Provide accurate administrative requirements
* Assist with emergency response services. Provide timely detailed reporting to Venue Manager
* Coordinate effective evacuations procedures in accordance with the Facility Emergency Management Plan
* Maintain First Aid readiness in line with relevant training
Operational & Customer Support
* Assist with opening and closing procedures as rostered
* Provide professional assistance to tenants, visitors and stakeholders
* Maintain area presence and accessibility for all tenants, visitors and stakeholders
* Support events, weekend operations, and public holiday trading
* Demonstrate positive communication with customers to establish their needs efficiently and courteously
Other Duties
* Demonstrate timely reporting to Venue Manager
* Accurately complete timesheets and record Time of in Lieu (TOIL) where applicable
* Maintain personal presentation and appearance at all times
* Follow BSP SOP's (standard operating procedures), daily safety checks & procedures as required
* Conduct other suitable duties as directed by Venue Manager or nominated delegate as required
Key Selection Criteria
* Relevant qualifications and/or experience in facilities or operations, preferably in a waterfront or customer experience environments
* Ability to conduct inspections, identify safety/compliance issues, and maintain presentation standards.
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety, risk management, and emergency procedures in public facilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tenants, contractors, stakeholders, and visitors.
* Well-developed organisational and reporting skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
