About the Opportunity
We are looking for positive, enthusiastic, team-oriented Emergency Medicine Registrars to join our department. The role has the responsibility for assessing and managing patients presenting to the emergency department, including assisting more junior medical staff in managing their patients. We are recruiting Australian Residents or International Medical Graduates holding a current valid working visa and AHPRA Registration for our February 2027 intake.
The ED receives approximately 55,000 patients per year with a 5% growth rate, including 20-25% paediatrics. Completion of the new emergency department building is scheduled to open later this year, expanding capacity by an additional 25,000 patients annually.
The ED is ACEM accredited for 24 months advanced training in emergency medicine. As a registrar, you will be supported by Emergency Physicians, with an active fellowship teaching and exam preparation programme. Opportunities exist for 3-month ACEM accredited Anaesthetic rotations, 6-month ACEM accredited ICU rotations, and the paediatric log book. Registrars are rostered to the weekly teaching session to avoid clinical demands interfering with attendance. Further education support is available, including completion of the Emergency Medicine Certificate and Diploma at our hospital.
We strongly encourage non-trainees to apply; suitable ACEM trainees will be prioritised.
