Patient-Focused Administration Officer – Hospital Services in Princess Alexandra Hospital
Join our hospital administration team and play a vital role in supporting patient care. You'll be the first point of contact for patients and staff, managing appointments, records, and clinical documentation to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery across the hospital.
About This Role
Your new role:

As an Administration Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative and customer service support within a busy hospital environment. Working closely with clinical and nursing teams, you'll help ensure patients receive timely, accurate, and well-coordinated care. This role requires attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities Include

* Registering, updating, and maintaining accurate patient data across hospital information systems
* Preparing, tracking, retrieving, and maintaining electronic and manual medical records
* Processing dictated medical correspondence, transcripts, and reports within required timeframes
* Assisting with billing, reporting, stock monitoring, and general office administration

This role operates across multiple hospital locations on a rotating roster within administrative service hours.

About Us
The Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital was established in 1968 and is today an integral part of the hospital, providing specialised diagnostic, endoscopic and consultative services for patients with disorders of the digestive tract and the liver.

With state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional endoscopic services, clinicians and support staff provide specialised assessment and gastrointestinal functional testing complementing the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal problems. Specialised departmental staff have been heavily involved with the Queensland Liver Transplant Service since the first liver transplant in Australia in 1985. The department has close clinical links with the upper gastrointestinal, colorectal and hepatopancreato-biliary surgical units.
