What You'll Be Doing

To provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in Geriatric Medicine, in a complex clinical environment.

The Department of Geriatric Medicine provides a broad and coordinated range of services for a predominantly local population of South Western Sydney area. The patient group is not organ system defined and the clinical expertise and care provided is not limited by the boundaries of organ system subspecialties.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
- Completion of at least four postgraduate years, meet the requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent, and be eligible to undertake subspecialty training in (Geriatric Medicine) in Australia.
- Previous experience in Geriatric Medicine preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised clinical environment using excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
- Good time management and organisational skills, and advanced computing skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self education as well as a willingness to teach and support junior medical staff.
