The role:
Lady Gowrie Tasmania is seeking for experience cook to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals and snacks for children in our care, ensuring all dietary requirements and food safety standard are met.
Hours:20 hours per week (4 hours a day ,9am-1pm)
Location: Norwood Education and Care Service
The role you'll play:
* Ordering and receiving ingredients weekly for a set menu
* Prepare, cook and serve age-appropriate and exciting meals and snacks in line with a set 4 weekly rotating seasonal menu
* Cater for dietary and cultural needs that reflect the children's needs
* Ensure that meals are served timely and alternative options are readily available
* Maintain the kitchen and food storage areas in a sanitary and secure manner
* Contribute to menu planning yearly with cooks across our services with nutritionists
* Adhere to hygiene & health practices when handling food.
What you'll bring:
* Safe Food Handling Certificate
* Allergy Aware Certificate (ability to obtain)
* Experience with preparing and cooking food with specific dietary and allergy requirements
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* Good computer literacy for food ordering
* A good understanding of food safe requirements in an early education and care setting
* Hold or ability to obtain a Tasmanian registration for Working with Vulnerable People (Child Related Activity) for an employee.
