The Opportunity
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join our team based in Yatala, QLD. Reporting to the General Manager of Group Development, the successful candidate will work closely with the Sales, Design, and Marketing departments, along with strategic business partners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering design support for Rondo’s wall & ceiling systems to customers, sales staff, architects, engineers, and other specifiers.
Collaborate with external design engineer partners to offer certified design services on key projects.
Contribute strategic input to the Technical Services Team regarding Rondo’s design services.
Apply knowledge of Australian design codes (AS1170 series, AS4600 etc.) and experience in light gauge / cold form steel design.
Assist with product and system testing, research, design & development.
Conduct site inspections to ensure installation aligns with design specifications.
Collaborate with other departments by contributing ideas and suggestions.
Follow WHS, quality, and environmental procedures.
Participate in ad hoc projects as required.
The Successful Candidate
Experience in Structural Engineering or a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of design experience.
Knowledge of light gauge roll-formed steel products is desirable.
Ability to interpret building systems and construction drawings is desirable.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Windows, and MS Excel.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong time management skills and ability to work autonomously.
Strong attention to detail.
