**Toolmaker - 2nd Shift: A Key Role in Space Exploration**
* Blueprint Interpretation and Fabrication: Utilize expertise in welding and fabrication to interpret blueprints at various assembly levels, applying knowledge to ensure precision and quality.
* Creative Problem-Solving: Leverage field machining equipment to find innovative solutions to complex problems, driving efficiency and productivity.
* Safety and Quality Standards: Ensure that all operations are performed safely, adhering to SpaceX's stringent quality standards to maintain exceptional performance.
* Metrology and Inspection:** Translate inspection data into actionable insights, guaranteeing that machined surfaces meet the highest standards.
* Spontaneous Design and Machining:** Employ improvisational skills to design and machine components as needed, resolving unforeseen issues with agility and expertise.
* Organizational Skills:** Maintain a clean and organized workspace, maximizing utility for team members and enhancing overall efficiency.
* Support Equipment Fabrication:** Develop creative solutions to fabricate support equipment, including shelving, temporary structures, maintenance tools, and weld repair/buildup.
* Rigging and Lifting:** Apply in-depth knowledge of rigging heavy components using cranes, gantries, and other lifting devices, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
* Component Maintenance:** Ensure that all components are maintained in optimal condition during assembly and disassembly processes.
**Basic Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or Equivalent:** Possess a high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
* Machining Certification or Experience:** Hold machining certification or possess 1+ years of professional experience in metrology (inspections, CMMs, portable arms, optics, or laser trackers) or machining (blueprint completion, blueprint creation, knee mills, gear lathes, and inspection tools).
**Preferred Skills and Experience:**
* Metrology or Machining Degree:** Hold an Associate's degree in metrology or machining.
* Accredited Apprenticeship:** Complete an accredited apprenticeship program.
* Weld Fabrication Experience:** Possess experience with weld fabrication and pass a welding skills test for cutting, fitting, stick, TIG, and MIG on semi-exotic materials.
* Millwright Operations:** Have experience with millwright operations.
* Manufacturing Process Understanding:** Understand the manufacturing process of large structures from concept to completion.
* 3D Visualization:** Possess the ability to visualize 3D space and integrate complex geometries onto large and small fabrications.
* Manual Inspection:** Have the ability to manually inspect components using conventional inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, and height gauges).
* GDT Application:** Be able to apply GD&T with discretion relative to the assembly's function.
* Machining Skill Test:** Pass a machining skill test.
* Software Proficiency:** Be able to use and learn various software to observe, analyze, evaluate, and communicate pertinent information.
* Leadership and Dependability:** Demonstrate leadership and dependability.
* Adaptability and Problem-Solving:** Possess the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment while maintaining a positive attitude and finding solutions to problems through diverse thinking.
* Safety and Efficiency:** Maintain the highest level of safety on the jobsite and bring new ideas for working safely and effectively in new locations and changing environments.
**Additional Requirements:**
* Flexible Scheduling:** Be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
* Shift Schedule:** Work the 2nd shift schedule (Monday to Friday, 1:00PM - 11:30PM).
* Travel:** Willing to travel extensively to launch sites in Florida, California, and Texas.
* Lifting and Physical Demands:** Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted, perform standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying as required.
**Compensation and Benefits:**
Pay range: Toolmaker/Level 1: $24.00 - $31.00/hour
Toolmaker/Level 2: $28.00 - $37.00/hour
Toolmaker/Level 3: $33.00 - $43.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis, considering job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
