Synopsis:
Handy Person / Field Officer (Minor home maintenance and modifications)
* Fixed Term (Until 30 June 2026) Part Time
* Monday to Friday, 29 hours per fortnight, 4 day fortnight
* $78,586 - $82,140 per annum pro rata (LGIA Stream A Level 2) + Superannuation
* Location – Rockhampton
Your new role
Support the operational delivery of the Home Assist Secure services for Central Queensland including the handling of home security, minor home maintenance and the installation of simple modifications.
You will undertake first interviews with new clients, provide home security advice and identified minor home maintenance and modifications.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
* Demonstrated experience working in a similar role and/or trade qualification in carpentry (or related discipline) with knowledge of residential building construction with
* Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously while being part of a larger team
* Good time management and organisational skills to coordinate the completion of works on time
* Patience and respect in dealing with elderly and disabled clients
* A great attention to detail with the ability to deal with small cash transactions, compilation of daily work reports, risk assessments and hazard inspections

Application Criteria
* Knowledge of residential building construction and technical knowledge relating to home maintenance and disability access (Trade qualification in Carpentry is desirable).
* Knowledge of building construction codes, standards, practices and materials.
* Excellent Communication skills with a strongcustomer service focus including the ability to work with vulnerable members of the community.
* Effective time management, planning and organisational skills to ensure projects are completed in accordance with required outcomes and timeframes.
