About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The Blum Institute for Mental Health Research is a new, innovative Mental Health Research Institute established as a key strategic goal of the Mental Health Service. Located at the RPA campus the Blum Institute will support collaborative and innovative mental health research, capacity build with our staff and services, and embed a research agenda in our clinical services. Amplifying the Lived Experience voice in research, and creating opportunities for Lived Experience led research is central to the Institute's work.
As a SLHD research service the Blum Institute will sustain and grow collaborative partnerships locally, nationally and internationally to support research activity. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the development of a landmark Research Institute from its inception and shape the future of mental health research in SLHD.
The Research Officer is an integral member of the research team with responsibilities to assist with planning, implementation, coordination, data management and reporting of research projects conducted within the unit.

Ideal Candidate
* Health related degree and/or experience in research, clinical trials or relevant experience.
* Demonstrated experience in conducting research in a health service environment.
* Proficiency in a range of computer applications including Microsoft Office, medical electronic databases (e.g. Medline, PubMed, Embase), REDCap and research software (e.g. SAS, SPSS, EndNote, Nvivo).
