About the role:
AT HCG, our Full-Time, Key Support Workers are responsible for the day-to-day support of NDIS participants in their homes and the community, to increase their individual skills, help build their capacity and achieve their goals
Based out of our head office, Key Support Workers daily duties include attending supports when the participants regular support worker is unavailable, assist in servicing new referrals, and undertaking youth work services under the Casework Support Scheme (CSS).
Additionally, Key Support Workers provide office-based support, as well as mentoring and support to our casual workforce, through feedback and assistance with problem solving.
This is an exciting opportunity, which has led to internal progression and further career development for a number of team members
The successful candidate will have:
* Availabilityto work a 38-hour week, Monday - Friday.
* A minimum 12-months Support Work experience
* An understanding of what it means to support in a way that respects Participant's rights, dignity, values, beliefs, and personal goals
* Ability to effectively manage complex behaviours and situations and use initiative to either resolve or escalate issues as they arise
* The ability to communicate effectively with Management, colleagues, Participants, and stakeholders in a prompt, articulate and professional manner
* Strong written communication skills, particularly in case note documentation
* A positive attitude
* Desirable: Already hold or be working towards a Certificate III or Higher in Community Services (or related field)
Essential criteria:
* NSW Working with Children Check Clearance (or willingness to apply)
* NDIS Worker Check Clearance (or willingness to apply)
* Current First Aid Certificate
* NSW Drivers Licence
* Your own comprehensively insured car
