About The Role
We have exciting opportunities available for experienced Electrical Tradespeople to join our Maintenance teams at Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL). If you enjoy a challenge and are passionate about safety, teamwork and continuous improvement, this is the time to join our business.
As a valued member of the QAL team, you will support our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:
* Performing all tasks in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures
* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a broad range of Electrical and Instrumentation equipment, including high-voltage repairs
* Diagnosing faults and recommending effective repair solutions
* Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting sophisticated PLC motor control systems for wharf machines and conveyors.
* Completing installation and maintenance activities for Hazardous Areas and Gas Systems
* Enhancing plant reliability by identifying and eliminating equipment failures and actively contributing to a strong site safety culture
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally demonstrate:
* A strong track record of working safely both independently and as part of a team
* A current Queensland Electrical Licence
* Certificate III in Instrumentation (highly regarded)
* Proven experience in fixed-plant maintenance
* Commitment to safety systems and active participation in site safety programs
* The ability to make sound, informed decisions to maintain plant integrity at all times
* Experience in planning, organising, and completing assigned tasks efficiently
* The capability to work effectively within a team while also managing your workload autonomously
* A dedication to continuous improvement, including identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings
