As a Buyer, you'll be at the heart of Snowy 2.0's supply chain — analysing markets, comparing supplier proposals, negotiating value, and making sure materials and equipment arrive exactly when needed.
Your work directly contributes to keeping a multi‑billion‑dollar project moving.
⭐ What You'll Be Doing 🔹 Explore the Market
Conduct market surveys, compare technical and commercial offers and identify the best suppliers locally and globally.
🔹 Drive Smart, Value‑Focused Buying
Create vendor lists, prepare RFPs, analyse offers and support commercial negotiations that deliver savings, quality and efficiency.
🔹 Collaborate Across the Project
Work with engineering, construction, finance, legal and procurement leaders to ensure the right products are sourced at the right time.
🔹 Own Supplier Relationships
Manage communications, monitor performance, expedite deliveries and ensure suppliers meet FGJV's standards, ethics and compliance requirements.
🔹 Support Critical Project Delivery
Help the Materials & Equipment Manager execute procurement strategies that keep Snowy 2.0 on track — safely, on time and within budget.
🎯 What You Bring
* White Card (mandatory)
* 3+ years experience in a Buyer, Procurement or Contracts role (construction preferred)
* Understanding of construction materials and heavy industry supply chains
* Experience on large-scale infrastructure or civil construction projects
* Knowledge of import/export requirements and NSW Government procurement guidelines
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Great time management and ability to work under pressure
* High attention to detail and solid financial/commercial awareness
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Additional languages are an advantage
