An exciting opportunity has become available to join the team at Austi Bookkeeping, an expert and dynamic bookkeeping practice. This is an immediate start position working out of our Wollongong office, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid remote/on-site role after probation.
This is a casual role (15 hrs/week to start) with room to grow to 25–30+ hrs/week and the potential to become permanent for the right person. The hours are flexible but must include Wednesday, and not Friday.
We're looking for a Senior Bookkeeper who's highly experienced, fast, and thorough. You take initiative, follow through, are curious and love problem solving. You love to multi task, and will be involved with the accounts of multiple clients, gaining valuable insight into how businesses operate across multiple industries.

Key responsibilities include:
· Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for multiple clients using Xero, MYOB and add-on software
· Process and oversee payroll (multi-state), super, and workers' comp compliance
· Liaise with clients, accountants, and government agencies
· Review and mentor junior team members' work
· Identify opportunities to streamline and improve processes
· Deliver accurate, timely reports and reconciliations
What we're looking for:
· Strong hands-on Xero experience (including Payroll, AP/AR, and reporting)
· An excellent grasp of bookkeeping processes and compliance requirements with high attention to detail.
· Sound knowledge of payroll tax, superannuation, and BAS requirements
· Experience with DEXT and solid Excel skills
· Confident written and verbal communicator with clients and external stakeholders and colleagues.
· Professional, reliable, and proactive - you follow through and meet deadlines
· Patient and capable mentor for junior staff
· Comfortable working to time budgets and managing shifting priorities
