**About Our Client**:
My client is a reputable organisation that operates globally in multiple countries and regions to create area-specific solutions. Their corporate mission is to assist people and goods transported where they need to go with safety and sustainability at the forefront of their development.
As the Accounts Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting our finance team by handling both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions. Based in their vibrant South Sydney office, you will report directly to the Finance Manager. This is a part-time position, offering 20 hours of work per week, providing you with the perfect work-life balance.
The key responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to:
- Follow up on and collect payments for the sale to the direct customers
- Maintain customer records
- Create new customer accounts, inclusive of verifying their details and assessing their credit worthiness
- Produce bank reconciliation and accounts receivables reconciliation for month-end reporting
- Assist in balance sheet reconciliation
- Release credit hold for parts debtor accounts as necessary to enable product shipment
- Assist in the preparation of BAS return and FBT return
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure correct invoices are timely sent to customers which ensures smooth collection from the customers
- Deposit cheques received from customers to bank
- Compile accounts receivable statistics around collection data for month-end close reporting
- Organise refunds to customers as required
- Perform other AD-HOC related duties as required
**The Successful Applicant**:
In order to be successful in this position, you will have:
- Experience in an accounting environment with experience of month end processes and reconciliations
- Strong customer orientation with the ability to communicate with management and employees at all levels
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a similar environment
- Experienced dealings with difficult customers
- Computer literacy, to at least an intermediate level in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Integrity and trustworthiness of a high order
- Organised and disciplined approach to some of the more structured tasks
- A mature approach when dealing with customers and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a small team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong team player, but able to work autonomously as required
- Sound numeric and bookkeeping skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, including strong negotiation skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
