We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technologist to join their team in Cranbourne West Vic and apply practical engineering expertise to solution design, technical support, and operational implementation. The role is full time and ongoing.
The role: Engineering Technologist
We are looking for a hands‐on technical specialist who thrives on applying engineering knowledge to real‐world operational challenges. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable performance of industrial equipment.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Technical Design:
* Analyse customer specifications and requirements to specify suitable gearmotors, drive systems, and inverters from an established product portfolio.
* Engineer the necessary technical design based on customer needs for example (e.g., torque, ratios, service factors) and confirm optimal component selection and ensure operational reliability.
Technical Support & Documentation:
* Ensure detailed technical documentation and layouts are available for customer projects, incorporating selected products into practical installation designs.
* Provide pre‐ and post‐sales engineering advice, engaging with management and customer engineering groups to ensure seamless product integration and commissioning.
Operational Validation & Compliance:
* Perform product testing, validation, and fault analysis to ensure solutions meet performance specifications and adhere to relevant AS/NZS and IEC industry standards.
* Manage the technical execution of projects through to commissioning, providing on‐site technical guidance for installation and start‐up.
Training & Improvement:
* Conduct technical training for internal and external stakeholders on product features, selection processes, and maintenance best practices.
To be considered for interview we expect to see:
* Highly relevant engineering bachelor's degree or higher qualification
* Proven 1 year or more experience as an Engineering Technologist.
* Strong practical knowledge of gearboxes, motors, and variable speed drives (VSDs).
* Ability to conduct technical calculations and read/prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with Australian and international engineering standards.
* Strong communication skills to ensure professional and effective client interactions.
* Ability to work under pressure.
