Tasmanian Independent Retailers – Western Junction TAS
Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR) is looking for a motivated Administration Assistant to join our finance team on a full‑time basis. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the finance team.
Who are we?
Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR) is a retailer‑owned co‑operative operating under IGA Tasmania and Island Fresh Produce (IFP). IFP distributes fresh fruit and vegetables to our retailers and other food service customers. TIR supports our members across IGA stores with supplier trading, advertising, equipment, in‑store product range, pricing, promotions, and business growth initiatives.
Key responsibilities
* Provide support to the finance team with invoicing and claims processing
* Back up and assist with weekly payroll processing, including ad hoc payments, leave requests, and reporting
* Accurately enter and maintain data across internal management systems to ensure smooth operations
* Manage incoming calls and emails, ensuring inquiries are directed to the correct department
* Process accounts payable, including supplier invoices and payments
* Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets, generating reports and reconciliations as required
* Assist with general administration duties to support the finance team
What you'll bring
* Previous experience in administration, finance, or payroll support
* Proficiency in Xero and/or Attache (highly desirable) and strong Microsoft Office skills
* Strong attention to detail, and ability to follow direction
* Ability to work collaboratively within an established team environment
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
* Completion of Year 12 or relevant vocational qualification
* Hold a current driver's license
* A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes
