Position Information

Concord Public School is a dynamic and inclusive primary school serving a culturally and linguistically diverse community. The current enrolment is approximately 239 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, including three classes in the Support Unit for students with autism. Sixty-seven percent of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds, reflecting the rich diversity of the school community.

The school is committed to high expectations, inclusive practice and continuous improvement in alignment with NSW Department of Education priorities. A strong focus on explicit teaching, literacy and numeracy growth, student voice and data-informed practice underpins school planning and evaluation processes.

Concord Public School offers a personalised and engaging educational experience, with differentiated teaching and a focus on self-regulated learning. In addition to comprehensive classroom programs, students participate in a range of co-curricular opportunities conducted during and beyond school hours, including dance troupe, junior and senior choir, public speaking, debating and PSSA sport. Key programs include the Italian Community Language program, MultiLit intervention and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL).


Selection Criteria
* In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated capacity to work successfully with the leadership team, balancing exemplary teaching with the demands and the complexities of a leadership role.
* Proven ability to work cohesively as a member of the leadership team with demonstrated experience in leading whole-school strategic planning, implementation and evaluation.
* Demonstrated capacity to lead, model and implement whole-school approaches that effectively cater for diverse learners, including HPGE and EAL/D students, ensuring curriculum differentiation, high expectations and measurable growth for all students.
* Highly developed skills enriching inclusive education and experience collaborating with staff, students, parents and the diverse community to support strong student wellbeing strategies and promote successful learning.


General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
