About the Role
As Group Accountant, you will provide high-level technical accounting support to the Treasury Manager and play a critical role in delivering complex group accounting, treasury accounting and financial reporting across the Sanitarium Health & Wellbeing Group and its portfolio entities.
You will manage a portfolio of group entities, prepare group consolidations and cash flow, maintain the group debt and equity register and help coordinate key audit activities.
This role is central to ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of group financial information and contributes directly to supporting Sanitarium's mission and maintaining the highest standards of group reporting, audits, and compliance.
Key responsibilities
Group reporting and analysis
Maintain Group cash flow forecasting and reporting, providing timely insights for decision-making.
Produce Group consolidations, dashboards and associated financial reporting.
Manage Group debt and equity registers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Support Group recharge processes, including handling queries and maintaining methodology integrity.
Help coordinate Sanitarium Group annual financial audits, liaising with internal stakeholders and external auditors
Provide technical accounting support to Group entities across Australia, New Zealand and international jurisdictions.
Accounting and Administrative
Manage multiple Sanitarium entities accounts, including audit, general ledger, tax compliance and associated administration.
Prepare the Treasury and Advisory budget and Quarterly Forecasts submissions, monitor expenditure, analyse variances and instruct redirects where required.
Assist with ACNC reporting, group policy compliance and related governance obligations.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business.
CPA/CA qualified or actively progressing toward membership.
A minimum of 5+ years' relevant accounting experience, ideally within group structures and/or large organisations.
Experience with accounting software (SAP and Xero highly desirable)
Strong experience in consolidations, complex reconciliations and multi-entity accounting.
Advanced Excel skills (formulas, modelling, dashboards).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail, accuracy and professional scepticism.
Proven ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
A self-driven, continuous improvement mindset.
Experience working with, or understanding of, the Seventh-day Adventist Church or non-for profit would be an advantage.
