Typical Assessment Officer Responsibilities:
* Assess and process applications in accordance with program guidelines, legislation, and policy frameworks
* Conduct research, data entry, and record management to support program delivery
* Provide accurate and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders
* Draft and review correspondence, reports, and documentation
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment processes and procedures
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold APS values in all aspects of work
* Assist with coordination of projects, reporting, and quality assurance activities
What We Look For in Candidates: We're seeking detail-oriented and professional individuals who can manage competing priorities while applying sound judgment and analytical thinking.
General Requirements:
* Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
* Experience in assessment, program delivery, or administrative support within the APS or a similar environment
* Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management or workflow systems
* Sound understanding of government processes, policy application, or compliance requirements
