About Us
As part of the First 2000 Days Framework, NSW Health and the NSW Department of Education are collaborating to make health and development checks available to 4‐year‐old children. The position is based at Moree and will be visiting Early Learning Centres in the Moree and surrounding area.
About The Role
* Working independently to conduct health and development checks at preschools and providing advice and support to parents/carers and early childhood staff.
* Liaising with early childhood education centres, health providers and other external stakeholders to ensure Brighter Beginning services are efficient, proactive and coordinated.
* Supervision of students and/or less experienced staff as the initiative matures and expands in scope.
* The role will involve travel within the LHD to deliver health and development checks in target areas.
* The position is supported by and reports to the Brighter Beginnings Program Coordinator (Allied Health Clinician).

The successful candidate will be motivated to improve the wellbeing and educational opportunities of young children. You will enjoy working in a collaborative manner with other health disciplines and educational professionals, sharing your professional knowledge and learning from others. You will have advanced communication skills and be able to adapt your style to suit the situation. The role presents an opportunity for clinicians to develop skills and experience in project implementation, improvement science, and supervision.
How You'll Be Supported
The successful applicants will be supported by the Brighter Beginnings Health & Development Checks team including child and family health nursing, fellow allied health clinicians, Program Coordinator, Service Manager (allied health clinician), and Administration Officers. Professional support will be available via senior allied health clinicians in each discipline, and the Director of Allied Health for HNEkidshealth.
Requirements
* Must hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association or provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.
