**About the role**:We seek an applicant who is self-motivated, has good communication skills and is able to work unsupervised as well as part of a team. Undertake maintenance and repair work to the school building and grounds to ensure it is a safe environment for the school community. Click here to view the Position Profile.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Ensure building systems and machines run smoothly e.g. air conditioning, pumps
- Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment
- Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken
- Handle, store and distribute goods/materials
- Move equipment/furniture as required
- Upkeep school grounds e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter
- Assist with school improvements e.g. fencing, paving, gardening projects
- Complete daily grounds maintenance reports
- Train new employees in grounds keeping duties
- Drive school vehicles as required
**Skills, experience and qualifications**:
- Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenance
- Understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance
- Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Trade background is desirable
- Current driver's licence and use of own vehicle
- Light Rigid (LR) vehicle licence is desirable
- Current NSW Working With Children Check for paid employment
- You may be required to provide an international police clearance
