Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for an experienced motivated Workshop Manager to lead our Whyalla operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day workshop operations, managing staff, ensuring efficient workflow, quality control, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily workshop operations and production schedules
* Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of tradespeople and apprentices
* Ensure all work is completed to high quality and safety standards
* Coordinate materials, equipment, and labour to meet project deadlines
* Monitor and maintain project budgets, ensuring jobs are delivered within cost expectations
* Monitor workflow efficiency and implement process improvements
* Maintain compliance with WHS policies and industry regulations
* Liaise with management, clients, and suppliers as required
* Manage maintenance of workshop equipment and tools
Qualifications
* Proven experience in workshop management, operations, and team leadership
* Relevant trade or engineering qualifications are an advantage
* Strong skills in scheduling, logistics, and maintaining workflow efficiency
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and organizational skills
* Commitment to safety, compliance, and workplace health standards
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team coordination
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Familiarity with industry-specific tools, software, and safety protocols
