Mid-Senior Architectural Draftsperson / Technician Job

The Opportunity

We have an exciting role for an experienced Architectural Draftsperson to join our expanding industrial design team in our stunning Wollongong studio.

This full-time position offers diverse project opportunities within a supportive and creative team environment.

Requirements

1. Diploma in Building Design or equivalent qualification.
2. Expert Revit skills with at least 10 years post-graduate experience (in Australia).
3. A strong portfolio showcasing industrial/commercial projects.
4. Experience supervising others is highly valued.
5. A valid Australian driver's license and access to personal transport are necessary.


Key Skills

1. Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian construction methods, including timber framing, masonry, concrete, and structural steel framing systems.
2. Design Sensitivity: Ability to assess complex site issues and translate client briefs into thoughtful design solutions.
3. Drafting and Detailing Expertise: Proficiency in creating detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings with precision and attention to detail.
4. Regulations & Standards: Thorough knowledge of Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia.
5. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Project Management: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
7. Problem-Solving: Analytical skills and a proactive approach to resolving construction and documentation challenges.
8. Collaboration: Effective teamwork and mentoring skills.


Key Responsibilities

1. Construction Documentation: Prepare detailed architectural plans with creativity and precision.
2. Consultant Coordination: Accurately integrate consultant drawings into architectural documentation.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all documentation meets National Construction Code (NCC / BCA) and Australian Standard requirements.
4. Project Oversight: Efficiently manage projects to achieve cost-effective and high-quality results.
