About the Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to step into a leadership role within a youth‐focused, community‐based mental health service across Sydney Local Health District.

The Team Leader will bring together the various youth mental health teams based at Camperdown, Croydon and Ashfield under a single governance structure with a refreshed model of care to best meet the needs of our youth population.

As Team Leader, you will support and guide a multidisciplinary team delivering accessible mental health support to young people who are at risk of or experiencing severe and/or complex mental health needs, and/or with moderate‐severe mental health symptoms who can be adequately supported in a primary care setting and require a mix of specialities, multi‐agency approaches and/or interventions to meet their care needs.

This role combines team leadership, clinical support, and service development and reporting to ensure high‐quality, person‐centred care.

Responsibilities

* Lead, mentor, and support a skilled team of mental health professionals
* Provide clinical oversight, assessment support, and guidance on complex presentations
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and youth‐friendly service environment
* Contribute to service development, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, local mental health services and community agencies

The role reports directly to the Director, Community Mental Health and Partnerships.

Ideal Candidate

* Recognised qualification in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology and/or area of practice endorsement for Clinical Psychology and current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* Extensive experience in contemporary community mental health and commitment to management and treatment of consumers with significant mental health issues and disabilities in a community setting including experience in application of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
* Highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including a demonstrated capacity to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of multidisciplinary teams and sound decision‐making, negotiation and organisational skills.
* Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
