About This Role
We are seeking experienced Shotfirers to join Drill & Blast teams across multiple Pilbara mine sites. These roles support safe, efficient blasting operations and suit team players committed to safety and performance. FIFO available from Perth, Busselton, Albany, Geraldton, and Broome for convenient site access.
As part of the Shotfirer role, your responsibilities will include:
* Safely lead and coordinate the blast crew to deliver daily blasting operations
* Prepare and load blast holes with explosives in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
* Operate within strict safety standards and procedures, ensuring all activities are compliant with site and legislative requirements
* Conduct safety checks, maintain accurate records, and report incidents or near misses
* Maintain high housekeeping standards in and around magazines, explosive vehicles, compounds, and blast areas
* Handle and use electronic detonators and blasting accessories with care and precision
* Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure timely and safe execution of blasts
Requirements
* Valid Shotfirer's Ticket (essential)
* Minimum C Class Manual Driver's Licence (HR licence advantageous)
* Prior experience as a Shotfirer in a mining environment
* Experience working with electronic initiation systems
* Excellent awareness of HSE policies and procedures
* Strong team player with a flexible and proactive attitude
* Ability to work in physically demanding and remote site environments
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening, and police clearance
* Willingness to work FIFO rosters, including both day and night shifts
* Experience working in autonomous mining environments is advantageous
