Job Description We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader – Streetscape Maintenance to lead a small outdoor crew responsible for the upkeep and presentation of streetscapes and public open spaces across the City. Reporting To: The Supervisor Streetscape Horticulture. This Role Oversees Daily Operations And Ensures Work Is Delivered Safely, Efficiently And To Agreed Performance Standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervising and coordinating a small team undertaking streetscape and park maintenance activities
* Leading routine mowing operations, line trimming, edging, blower work and litter removal
* Ensuring the safe operation and basic maintenance of plant and equipment including ride-on and pedestrian mowers
* Conducting verge inspections and scheduling maintenance works accordingly
* Implementing traffic management requirements for all work activities
* Maintaining accurate daily records, including timesheets and work schedules (including electronic systems)
* Reporting hazards, defects and maintenance issues to the Supervisor
* Conducting regular toolbox meetings focused on safety, work practices and schedules
* Assisting with additional duties such as weed control, pruning, cleaning footpaths and relieving in other Parks and Streetscape roles as required
This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality streetscapes that meet community expectations while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
Position Description Qualifications
* Essential
* Year 10 Certificate
* Basic Worksite Traffic Management qualification
* Considerable experience in turf maintenance, including operating ride-on mowers and line trimmers
* Strong planning and organisational skills with a results-focused approach
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to set goals and guide team performance
* Sound understanding of occupational health and safety principles
* Current Driver's Licence
* National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months)
* Desirable
* Previous experience leading or supervising a small team
* Basic digital skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications
