We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services).

About the role
We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Support Worker to welcome and support participants through the process of alcohol and other drug withdrawal and residential rehabilitation and at our transitional houses for participants.
Located in Fyshwick, Canberra Recovery Service provides a 24-hour residential rehabilitation centre, transitional housing as part of aftercare and community-based programs.
This is a part time position max term (12 months role) which requires a commitment to work a set-days and shifts to cover 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm including some weekends. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award Level 3
How you will make an impact
* Provide appropriate support to participants in line with established frameworks and TSA policy and procedure
* Assist case workers to address participant needs, administer the program, contribute to case plans and provide supervision to participants.
* Provide visits, check-ins and support to participants living at CRS Transitional Housing Properties
* Set up rooms and help book participants in and out of the service including all necessary administrative paperwork
* Assist with incoming calls and visitors to the centre
* Ensure a safe and substance free environment ensuring risks are identified and managed including de-escalation of situations
* Effective relationships are established with participants that encourage self-determination and participation
What you will bring
* Knowledge and experience of working within AOD and/or mental health setting
* Good understanding of risk management
* Ability to work across a 24-hour roster
* Experience working with complex needs/co-morbidities
* Minimum of Certificate IV level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management) including core AOD Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
* Availability for a range of shifts including overnight shifts
* High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Good planning, organisational, problem solving and evaluation skills.
* Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences
* A current Australian Drivers Licence
* Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
* Working With Vulnerable People Card
